This week we take a look at a great Walt Disney TV spot for Darby O'Gill and the Little People.  This short was made in 1959 and was titeld, "I Caught the King of the Leprechauns."  In this episode, Walt visits Darby and Ireland in order to get permission to film the little people in his new movie.  However, it is definately an advertisment for Darby O'Gill. 

After the bulk of the show we close with a wonderful song that is very close to my heart.  It's sung by Rex Allen and is currently available on Itunes if you wish to purchase it.

During this stormy first week of March there is only one appropriate short to share with all of you.

Lambert the Sheepish Lion came out in 1952 and is currently available on the Disney Rarities Treasure 2 Disc DVD set.  Unlike the weather here, Lambert starts out as a lamb and goes out a mighty lion.  Please listen to hear his story.  As always I highly advise you to pick up this DVD if you haven't already.  Also please note the voice talent of Sterling Holloway as the narrator.

I'll have another show out on St. Patrick's Day so keep your eyes and ears out.

Once again the Magical Vault is back to it's short format after a couple of very long shows...well for me anyways. 

During this episode we learn how to play football with Goofy and try to decide which kind of football is better...Oldtimers vs. Younguns.  In case you couldn't guess, you will be listening to a Goofy short - How to Play Football which came out in 1944 and Football: Now and Then that came out in 1953.

This opening always made me feel like I was on a dark ride at Disneyland.  I recorded it several times whenever it was on as I'm sure most of you did as well.

Since it's Christmas Eve, I thought I would send out a quick God Bless and a Very Merry Christmas to all. 

On this show we look at an early Disneyland Christmas special where the gang roams the park in search of Christmas.  Also, we get to listen to Mickey's Christmas Carol.  Along with a couple of other treats, we will all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
